Balkan eCommerce Summit is introducing a new Merchant Program for its 2027 edition, creating new opportunities for online retailers to connect with industry leaders, discover business solutions and become part of Southeast Europe’s growing eCommerce community.

The initiative was among the highlights of the official online Launching Event on October 20, which marked the beginning of the journey towards the next edition. The event introduced the Summit’s plans for 2027, its evolving format and new opportunities for businesses across the region.

Balkan eCommerce Summit 2027 will take place on April 20–21, 2027, at Inter Expo Center in Sofia, Bulgaria, under the theme “Cross-Border First.”

A New Opportunity for Online Retailers

The new Merchant Program is designed for businesses operating their own online stores, offering free access to the Summit for approved applicants.

To participate, applicants must submit an application and provide information confirming their eligibility. The initiative aims to bring online retailers closer to technology providers, service companies and industry experts who can support their business growth.

By creating a dedicated opportunity for merchants, Balkan eCommerce Summit aims to encourage meaningful conversations between online retailers and potential partners, helping businesses discover relevant solutions, exchange experience and build valuable professional relationships.

Further details about eligibility and the application process are available through the official Balkan eCommerce Summit channels.

Building a Year-Round eCommerce Community

Balkan eCommerce Summit is a B2B eCommerce ecosystem connecting businesses, industry leaders, technology providers and decision-makers throughout the year.

With a growing network across the Balkans and Europe, alongside international partnerships spanning Asia, India and North America, the platform creates opportunities for cross-border collaboration, market expansion and strategic partnerships.

The October 20 Launching Event brought together Nikola Ilchev, Founder of Balkan eCommerce Summit; Cornel Morcov, Chief Strategy & Development Officer at FAN Group; and Radu Andrei Balaceanu, eCommerce Business COO at Neakaisa.ro and Nekka.bg.

Their participation highlighted the importance of connecting industry perspectives with the challenges and opportunities facing eCommerce businesses today.

The Summit also continues to strengthen its regional presence through year-round activities and partnerships, including its participation in eCommerce Talks in Bucharest in September 2026, organized by easySales.

What to Expect in April 2027

The two-day event will bring together eCommerce and retail professionals, brands, technology providers, logistics companies and decision-makers from Southeast Europe and international markets.

Participants can expect opportunities to:

  • Discover business solutions for online retail, logistics, digital marketing and business development.
  • Build valuable connections with merchants, brands, entrepreneurs and potential partners.
  • Explore international markets and opportunities for cross-border expansion.
  • Gain industry insights into emerging trends and developments shaping eCommerce.
  • Connect with the regional ecosystem and develop partnerships that support long-term growth.

The Merchant Program will provide eligible online retailers with a dedicated opportunity to access these experiences and connect with the wider eCommerce community.

Cross-Border First: Think International from Day One

The theme for 2027 reflects the Summit’s belief that international growth should be part of a business strategy from the beginning, rather than a distant next step.

As eCommerce increasingly connects businesses and consumers across borders, access to expertise, reliable partners and international networks is becoming essential. Balkan eCommerce Summit aims to create a meeting point where these connections can develop into real business opportunities.

With its new Merchant Program and expanding network of regional and international partners, the Summit continues to support the businesses and people shaping the future of commerce in Southeast Europe.
