  • Berisha calls on citizens to join the students in protest: It’s your turn.

Albania’s Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha has called on citizens, regardless of political beliefs, to come out in support of students and young people who have been protesting in Tirana for days.

In a video message published today, Berisha accused the government of excessive use of violence against protesters and invited citizens to meet tomorrow at 10:00 to join the protest.

According to him, during a week of protests, over two thousand young people, including high school students, students, and minors, have been violated, detained, or arrested.

Berisha described the situation as the return of red terror, claiming that rule forces have used rubber sticks, tear gas and rubber bullets in a disproportionate way. He said the consequences have affected not only protesters, but also journalists and residents of surrounding areas.

A week ago, over 2,000 girls, boys, high schoolers, minors, students have been severely violated, detained or arrested, and filled in the country’s detentions from Burrel’s famous prison to the Berat prison. For a week now, we have seen great disproportionate response to student self-protection against rubber sticks that break their new bones, poisonous gas that has risen like a black cloud over Tirana’s sky, and every day is drowning not only students and high schoolers, but homes and residents in Tirana. The rubber bullets in hail, with no mercy, in full violation of the law, on students, on journalists, on the citizens, and that actually cracked their skulls. Edi Rama, to save his skin, unveiled yesterday the criminal platform of red terror. Based on mercenaries, serial killers paid 2,500 euros, based on mercenaries and serial killers imported from abroad and on instruments of terror technology. But today’s protest of the thousands of assistants, professors and university professors in support of their students overturned Edi Rama’s red terror platform, Berisha stressed.

He also praised the protest of professors and professors in support of students, claiming it has failed the government’s strategy to intimidate young people.

“Students, high schoolers, young people are raised as phoenix from ashes.” They’re doing their job. Now it’s your turn, Berisha declared.

  • Zelensky and US envoys hold talks in Oslo, following strained relations

US special envoy Steve Witzkoff and Ukrainian President Volodyy Zelensky are meeting in Oslo at a time when relations between Ukrainian leader and American President Donald Trump have deteriorated.

Norway’s Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Støre, said Zelensky had asked Norway and neighbouring Finland to organise talks with the US and European allies, at a critical moment for Ukraine.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio earlier dismissed allegations that Ukrainians were losing their lives because the United States was denying Kiev intelligence information.

He spoke after Zelensky’s top military adviser, Serhii Beskretnov, told him BBC-that the lack of reliable warnings from the United States, including for launching ballistic missiles, was causing life loss.

That sounds very strange, said Beskrestnov, widely known as Flach. Sometimes we get this information before the attack, sometimes not.

Relations between Kiev and Washington have deteriorated in recent weeks, to the point that Trump has declared Ukraine must elect a new president. Recently, he said it was time for someone else to negotiate on behalf of Ukraine.

  • Europe is burning with protests, but why is Switzerland still calm?

While thousands of young people in some European countries are going out on the streets to oppose high costs of living, the housing crisis and problems in education, the situation is presented differently in Switzerland.

Experts say discontent exists even among young Swiss people, but the political system and opportunities for democratic participation influence the way they express their demands.

A wave of youth protests has included several European countries, including France, Italy, Belgium, Portugal and Albania, in recent days.

According to an analysis published by the Swiss media 20 Minuteen, the question is why these protests are not taking the same size in Switzerland, it transmits Telegragraphy.

In many lands, young people are opposing the increase in cost of living, the difficulties of finding affordable housing, social inequality, and a lack of prospects for the future.

According to protest researchers, however, the causes of discontent are similar in many countries, while the way institutions organize and react.

Why do young people in Switzerland not protest in the same way?

One of the explanations relates to the Swiss political system, which enables citizens to directly influence decision-making through popular initiatives and referenda.

Politologists estimate that these mechanisms create more opportunities to express demands through institutions, without ever having to turn discontent into major protests.

The Swiss federal system also offers citizens certain levels where they can address their concerns, from municipalities and cantons to federal authorities.

However, this does not mean that young people in Switzerland are satisfied with the situation. Even in this country, issues such as housing costs, climate change, and economic prospects have promoted demonstrations and civic movements.

According to researchers quoted in Swiss media reports, economic and social problems are among the main factors that are driving young people to protest.

Rising prices, high rents and concerns about the quality of education are creating dissatisfaction with a part of the new generation.

In some countries, protests have also taken political character, with demands for change in governance and stronger reactions to corruption.

Experts warn that when institutions do not respond to citizens’ demands, the protests could expand and continue for a longer period.

Protests in Switzerland are less violent, but not necessarily more rare

According to analyses published by the Swiss media, demonstrations in Switzerland generally take place more peacefully than in some other European countries.

This relates to political culture, democratic participation opportunities and the way authorities deal with public gatherings.

However, Switzerland is not exempt from protests. In recent years demonstrations have been organized on climate, working conditions, agriculture, and international developments.

So the main difference is not necessarily a lack of discontent, but the way it expresses itself and channels through which citizens try to influence politics.

As the wave of protests continues in Europe, it remains to be seen whether youth discontent will spur new mobilizations in Switzerland as well./Telegraphy/

  • Limaj: Trendafilova reaction is the first sign of the Special Law effect

Social Democrat Initiative Chairman Fatmir Limaj has assessed as a positive step the public reaction of Kosovo’s Specialised Chambers in The Hague, Ekaterina Trendafilova, regarding changes in the Law for the Special Court, adopted by the Assembly of Kosovo.

Invited to RTV Dukagjini, Limaj said Trandafilova’s public appearance to provide clarifications constitutes, according to him, the first sign of the effect of the new law.

He praised that its response came as a result of the concrete actions of Kosovo institutions, while at the same time criticising the mode of communications of specialised rooms over the past few years.

First of all, I believe that this reaction results from the concrete actions of Kosovo, the law. The first effects and the first signs of the effect of the law are the obligation of Mrs. Trandafilova to come out and provide this clarification and promotion, Limaj said.

He stressed that Trandafilova has not directly commented on the law adopted by the Assembly of Kosovo, but has provided clarifications referring to the legal basis on which specialised Chambers operate.

According to Limaj, the head of the Special Court has no right to interpret laws adopted by the Parliament of Kosovo, while praising that in its proposal she was cautious in this regard.

Limaj described the reaction as a positive development, despite the contents of Trandafilova’s statement.

For me, it’s a positive step of her own obligation to come up with some clarification, no matter what she said. It shows the first effects of the law, he said.

Finally, the head of the Social Democrat Initiative criticised the Specialised Chambers for what it called arrogance, lack of communication and transparency over the years. He said The Hague institutions should directly address Kosovo citizens, on whose behalf they exercise their activity.
