A stop for counter-in-communication has been turned into an incident with threats to two Kosovo Police officials on the highway of Ibrahim Rugova in the Prizren region. The two police officers, who were in civilian clothes, were suspected to have been physically injured by a driver who was later arrested and detained for 48 hours.
Signal sources suggest that the event took place on October 20, 2026, at around 10:00, when two police officials have stopped a vehicle leader because of a traffic breach.
According to information provided by the signal, the suspect is Zen Zahiti, about 47-year-old.
Because they were dressed in civilian clothes, the two officials have been introduced to the suspects as members of the Kosovo Police.
However, according to their report, Zahiti has refused to comply with police demands, has displayed presumptuous behaviour, and is suspected to have threatened them blindly, following a conflict in communications.
The situation has called for the intervention of a police patrol, which has arrived at the scene and has accompanied the parties to the police station.
Two police officials have compiled reports of the incident, while the case has been taken in treatment by the Regional Investigation Sector in Prizren.
The suspect has been interviewed in the presence of the defence attorney and, after consulting the State Prosecutor, a police ban has been imposed on him for up to 48 hours.
The case has been initiated as a command to the official person, as investigations continue to clear up the circumstances of the incident.
