Despite the result, the positive news for Diego Simeones’ team was the return to Julian Alvarez’s goal. The Argentinian striker realised at the beginning of the second part, equalising the figures and giving his team an important point on the journey.
Atletico Madrid was forced to develop the last few minutes with a player, following Morten Huylmand’s red card, while failing to continue the series of positive results.
The goal of Stutgart was the first for Alvarez with the fan of Atletico Madrid this season. Argentina is aiming to return to its best form and to regain an important role in coach Simeone’s plans again, as during the summer it was talked about a possible departure towards Barcelona.
However, his importance for the madrile team remains indisputable. Fellow Alex Grimaldo confirmed that, who highly praised the attacker after the match.
Julian is our best player. He has created cases in the last few matches and needed that goal, Grimaldo said.
He also voiced hope that this will only be the beginning of a series of realisations for the Argentinan assailant.
We hope this will be the first goal of many for him this season, he concluded.
For Alvarez, this realisation could be an important impetus for the continuation of the season, while Atletico Madrid intends to return to the victories and remain competitive in the Champions League.
