Ten Models of Healthy Nutrition That Link to Slower Age

Ten models of healthy nutrition are related to slower biological aging, according to a study by the German Center for Neuroderative Diseases ( DZNE).

Researchers point out that there is not only one proper diet, and that Mediterranean diet, Nordic, and other models can have similar benefits.

The study analysed the data of about 7,500 people and examined ten feeding patterns, including the Mediterranean diet, the plant-based one, FOR blood pressure and MIND control, which aims to sustain brain health.

To assess biological aging, researchers analyzed chemical changes in DNA, known as metilim, using three models of epigenetic aging.

The results showed that greater respect for the food recommendations was linked to slower aging, although differences between diets were small.

According to researchers, more than 70 percent of the biological feeding processes were common to all models.

However, some specific relationships were observed only in the DAS diet, about heart processes, and MIND diets, about memory and thought.

The connection between healthy nutrition and slower aging was stronger among smokers.

Researchers suspect that this may be linked to the greatest biological damage caused by tobacco, but the mechanism is still not clear.

The authors underline that a perfect diet is not necessary. However, the study shows a link between feeding and molecular aging markers, but it does not prove that diet is directly the cause of slower aging. /Telegraphy/
