According to the court’s announcement, the verdict was taken by the judge of the preliminary procedure, following the hearing and approval of the Basic Prosecutor’s request at Ferizaj for the appointment of the detention measure.
The 1 ( 1) month detention period is scheduled for each of the nine defendants, the court’s announcement said.
According to allegations presented in the official announcement, illegal actions allegedly took place during 2026, until 23 October, at various locations in Pristina, which are allegedly adapted and exploited as call centres.
The court suggests that the defendants allegedly acted in an organized, co-ordinated manner and with separate roles, with the aim of illegally benefiting wealth.
According to the report, the suspects allegedly presented false facts and were presented as representatives of financial investment companies, placing foreign citizens on board and encouraging them to take action at the expense of their assets.
In reasoning with the verdict, the court has estimated the danger exists that the defendants, if released, avoid prosecution.
There is the danger that if the same is set free, they can escape, says the report, where as circumstances supporting this assessment, three of the defendants are German citizens, as well as frequent trips abroad.
Similarly, the court has estimated the danger exists for defendants to influence the development of criminal procedure, including the possibility of hiding, changing or eliminating material evidence.
According to the announcement, there is also the danger that they will influence the injured, witnesses or co-members suspected of realising criminal acts.
The court has indicated that the parties have a right to complaint against this ruling at the Kosovo Court of Appeals.
