Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has expressed the desire to play in the Spanish championship in the future, viewing Real Madrid and Barcelona as two potential destinations for continued careers.
According to renowned journalist Matteo Moretto, 26-year-old Norwegian man has a transfer to La League on his plans, although he has not yet decided which team he wants to join, nor when he can leave Manchester City.
Moreto found out during a special paper program. MARCA that Hayland makes decisions for his future largely based on sports and that the Spanish championship remains one of its goals.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are considered the two main options in Spain for the Norwegian attacker, but at the moment there is no indication which of these clubs is the favourite for his transfer.
Haaland joined Manchester City in 2022 by Borussia Dortmund and won the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup in the first season, performing a total of 52 goals in all races.
However, a possible transfer to Spain is not expected to be easy at all, since the attacker has contracts with the English club until June 2034.
Norwegian renewed agreement in January 2025, while according to SkySportsThe new contract eliminated previous release clauses, giving Manchester City control over a possible evacuation.
Another factor that could affect the future of Haaland is Manchester City’s situation over alleged violations of the Premier League’s financial regulations.
On September 29, 2026, League Premier announced that an independent commission had arranged a large number of financial violations by the English club.
However, City has filed complaints against the decision and a final one is still expected regarding possible sanctions.
If the club faces heavy sports sentences, the situation could affect the plans of some of the leading footballers, including Hawaii.
For the time being, Norwegian’s desire to play in La League remains only an opportunity for the future, while Real Madrid and Barcelona will have to face Manchester City’s high financial requirements if they decide to attempt its transfer.
Of course, a possible Hawaii flight to Spain would constitute one of the most spectacular transfers to European football. /Telegraphy/
