New developments in the serious case of the attempted assassination in Vushtrri, where a young man had been hit by powerful means and ended up bleeding, while shootings were heard at the scene. The Constitutional Court in Mitrovica has also set a month of detention for the second suspects, Bekim Maxhun, who was self-designed in the police after weeks of research.
Signal Journal sources suggest that Maxhun, born in 1998, was presented on Friday, October 30th, before the judge of the preliminary procedure at the Department of Internal Crimes in Mitrovica.
After reviewing the request for the security measure’s appointment, the court has decided that one month’s detention should be established for him, while the suspect has been sent to the detention centre in Mitrovica.
He surrendered to the police and told where he had concealed his weapon
Bekim Maxhun was in a police search for the September 30th event, when Luan Lokaj, born in 1999, was attacked by several people in the vicinity of the country known as the Iron Bridge, on the Street of Xavi Mulacuı in Vushtrri.
On October 28th, Maxhun has been using himself to regional investigators in South Mitrovica, where he has also discovered the location where he had hidden a gun and a bullet.
According to signal sources, investigators have gone along with suspect at the location shown, where they found and seized the weapon.
It’s a pistol of the type “Crvena Zastava,” of the 7.65m calibre of Yugoslav production, allegedly used during the incident.
After interviewing in the presence of the defence attorney, the suspect was initially detained for 48 hours, while the detention measure has already been scheduled for him.
How did the attack happen near the Iron Bridge?
The event took place on September 30th, about the hour, when police were reportedly injured near the Iron Bridge.
At the scene, police officials had found Luan Lokian bleeding in his face, who had claimed to have been attacked by some unknown people with strong tools, while one of them had fired several shots into the air.
As a result of the attack, Loki had suffered head injuries, nose fractures, and fingerprints on both hands. After his first aid in Vushtrri, he had moved to CKUK for further treatment.
An orange VW Caddy was also found at the scene, crashed on a public light pole.
During the examination, police had found four shells, a four – bullet clip, and another bullet in the vehicle.
Both suspects already in custody
For this case, on 7 October, another suspect, Naim Maxhuni (57), was submitted to police on October 7th, to which the Constitutional Court in Mitrovica had scheduled a month of detention on 9 October.
With the recent ruling on Bekim Maxhun, the two people suspected of this case are in custody, while investigations continue for criminal activity attempted murder in co-ordination.
