Another letter written by Arlinda Zekaj, directed to Judge Migen Kastrati, has been published.
On September 7 of this year, the deceased had written to appoint the child’s protective order and custody assignment.
Write it down as a woman who is now taking risks for her life and for the life of a child who does not know where I am. I pray very much, I take a few minutes from your busy time to set the child’s protective order and appointment in custody and at the home where I have given everything I have. It’s routine for you, it’s life for me and God knows why he chose you to save lives.
Judge Kastrati 10 days after this letter, appointed the defense order, which he had decided to live in that house with the ex-husband, and he was inside the same house, had to not offer her in 2 meters.
And the violation of this protective order by her former husband led to the murder of Arlinda.
Last Sunday, just hours before she was killed at 7:00 a.m. at the Péja Police Station, the victim had reported domestic violence where her husband had been arrested and detained.
The police had taken him all the way to the yard, but there was no other move to get him out of the house by now, Albert Sylaj, who killed the same man as the axe.
The same is already in custody, just like his brother.
Her murder has sparked numerous reactions, protests and measures in institutions. Among the post-aract developments is the resignation of Kosovo Police Director General Gazmend Hoxha, as well as the suspension of prosecutors and policemen.
After the murder, The IPK announced it launched investigations into all of Zekiaj’s previous reports and the way police had dealt with them, since talks were published between the late and the already suspended Lieutenant Faruk Muqolli.
On 29 October, police suspended 11 police officials, including heads of regional structures and police station in Pec.
The same day, the Prosecutor’s Council ruled out the chief prosecutor of Pec, Joy Vucetaj, and the prosecutor of the case, Arlinda Nallban-Gacaferri, opening disciplinary procedures and establishing an investigative panel.
After the assassination in a 72-hour term, it was drafted by a report by the Justice and Home Affairs Ministry, but that contained nothing more than what was reported over a week in the media.
Arlinda left behind a boy, who is now the hands of the State, and much of the evidence written by his own hand, where she had sought help from all the safety and justice institutions, as she faced the danger of her life. / T V DUNDAY
