Ukraine plans to invest up to 1 billion euros from the 90 billion-euro loan it is receiving from the European Union to finance joint projects with the European defence industry.
According to a European Commission document, provided by Euronews, these vehicles are expected to be transferred to the European Defence Industry Programme and the Ukraine Support Tool.
Co-operation between Kiev and European partners aims to increase the production of military equipment, especially in the areas of air and missile protection, fears, anti-dance systems and ammunition.
The Ukraine Support Tool, which currently has a 300m-euro budget, envisions the creation of joint enterprises, technology licensing and procurement of military equipment by Ukrainian and European producers.
The 90 billion-euro loan from the EU is meant to support Ukraine during 2026 and 2027, in meeting its financial needs and war efforts.
This initiative is part of the strategic partnership between the European Union and Ukraine, aimed at connecting developed and tested technologies from Ukraine to the production capacities of the European industry.
