Secretary for International Co-operation and LSDM Executive Board member Andrej Zernovski, in an interview in Alsat, warned that Macedonia would feel the negative consequences of Mickoski’s connection to Vuciqi.
Zhernovski recalled that LSDM warned of Alta Bank’s suspicious capital and its risks of entering Macedonia almost a year ago, but the government ignored warnings.
He stressed that it was no coincidence that this bank did not get permission to enter the European market because of doubts about the origin of money, money laundering, and safety risks.
Unfortunately, we have not yet seen the negative reflection or effects of Mickoski’s close relationship with Vucinqi. That’s what we’re seeing first, and other most horrible things are going to happen. In December, it will be exactly a year since my colleagues and I talked about this subject and said Alta Bank entry is of extremely suspicious capital, that it is no coincidence that this bank is not allowed in Europe and the European Central Bank has banned its entry due to the origin of money, money laundering and security risks this bank and this capital present throughout the region, Zhernovski said.
Zhernovski stressed that Alta Bank entry into Macedonia was forced despite warnings, and cited the business interests of Mickoski and Vucic as a reason.
They didn’t hear us. That bank was forced in. Why? Because that was the business agreement between Mickoski and Vucciki. And now we’ve come to what we’re seeing, unfortunately, Zhernovski said.
