Family violence: Law enforcement required, and the Commission want report from Gervala.

KThe Human Rights Commission has gathered today to discuss the complete failure of the Law to prevent and protect against domestic violence, in co-operation with the National Democratic Institute ( NDI).

Klan Kosova columnist Beligoshi reported that numerous shortcomings were identified during the meeting in the implementation of this law, while asked to become verifications and to draft new reports, especially after numerous cases of domestic violence.

The participating MPs demanded that the co-ordinator for domestic violence cases — at the same time Justice Minister Donika Grovall — report on handling these events and institutional responsibilities.

Also, the need for greater monitoring and monitoring of law enforcement at the local level is stressed.

During the discussion, NDI expert also cited the Arlinda Zekiaj case, stressing that in all institutions where she had sought help, there had been neglect of duties by responsible officials.
