A serious event has shocked the Magdalena department in Colombia on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, where a National Police officer was killed after a gun attack inside a bank’s premises.
The victim has been identified as Angel de Jesus Arrieta Ruiz, who was off duty and had gone to the Agrarre Bank branch in El Piscil City to perform some personal actions.
The images of security cameras published by local media show the critical moment when the author, wearing a red shirt, enters the bank’s environments. After watching the area for a few seconds, he quickly approaches police officer Ruiz, who was then talking to one of the bank employees.
The author has pulled out the firearm and fired several times towards the police officer. Although officer Ruiz tried to react and defend himself at the last few moments, bullets caused him severe wounds.
He was rushed to the local hospital by witnesses and rescue teams, but he failed to survive his injuries and passed away a little later.
The Colombian authorities have launched intensive investigations and are examining film footage to enable identification and capture of the event, as well as the full bleaching of its motives.
