Ukraine has used a group of 28 ground robots and drones in an attack on Russian positions near the town of Lyman, in the Donnetsk region, witnessing the growing use of robotic technology in the war between the two countries.
The attack was reported by the Russian channel at Telegram, Voicey Osvedomytel, which supports Moscow’s war. According to this source, the operation is conducted with three different types of robotics equipped for attacks on military positions and equipment.
Among the vehicles used were eight kamikasis ground scares designed to hit targets by blowing up during contact with them.
The rest of the group consisted of 18 robots armed with antitank grenade launchers, while two other vehicles were equipped with Mk 19.
This combination of tools indicates that earth’s robotic systems can be used for various duties on battlefields, from self – destructive attacks to heavy gun strikes.
Unlike air drones, which have become one of the most important elements of the war in Ukraine, earth robots move across the ground and can be equipped with explosives, machine guns, or other weapons systems.
Their use enables military forces to perform several operations without directly exposing soldiers to the enemy’s fire. They can also serve for detection, ammunition transport and supplies, as well as evacuation of the wounded.
Lyman is a strategically important area east of Ukraine, due to his position in the transportation and proximity network with some of the main front sectors in the Donnetsk region.
However, information about the 28 robot vehicle attack has been published by a Russian channel in Telegram and so far has not been independently confirmed. Neither has the damage caused or the consequences of the attack on Russian positions been disclosed. /Telegraphy/
