Kosovo Roads Alerts in Eight Months of Accident Statistics raises concerns

A tragic balance has been recorded on the streets of Kosovo during the first eight months of this year, where 79 people have lost their lives as a result of road traffic accidents.

Scary figures show that from January to August there were a total of 74 accidents with fatal consequences, with 22 of them being self-accidents. Of the total number of survivors, 44 were auto drivers themselves.

Regarding this disturbing situation, Kosovo Police spokesman Daut Hoxha, in a statement on the signal has made urgent calls to all participants in traffic for maximum care.
It has particularly appealed to respect speed restrictions as one of the main factors for preventing new tragedies.

To stem this wave of fatal accidents, police have taken strict measures by adding to their presence in the field, intensive control and continued surveillance in all the country’s road axes.
