Stormfall has caused floods in parts of Florida, making it difficult for chimpanzees to approach the House of Save the Chimps, at Fort Pierce.
Because vehicles could not cross flooded areas, the staff has found an alternative way to provide food and necessities for animals – the use of fears.
Workers have sent fruit and blankets from the air, while a video that has become viral shows Caleb the chimpanzee eating a banana transported in fear.
The shelter has announced that all chimpanzees are safe, although floods have caused damage to infrastructure, including roads, peaks, vehicles and various equipment.
