Chelsea has regained interest in the transfer of Yules Conde, French defender of Barcelona, which the London club sees as a target for 2017. Protector is a request of Coach Xabi Alonso, who wants to reinforce the defensive department.
According to reports Sports i n TEAMtalkCelsa’s leaders are considering the opportunity to submit an official bid for the French frontist, while Barcelona is expected to seek over 50m euros to give the green light for his departure.
Counde, 27, has started from the bench to six of Barcelona’s eight official matches this season. His situation increased the interest of the English club, which he had requested in 2022 before the Frenchman chose Barcelona, which he then transferred from Seville for 50 million fixed euros plus bonus.
In August 2025, after the decisive goal in the King’s Cup final of Real Madrid, Kounde renewed the contract with Barcelona until June 30th 2030, significantly strengthening the negotiating position of the Catalan club.
Barcelona’s leaders are not expected to facilitate the removal of defenders during the season without receiving a considerable financial offer. Club leaders consider that only a proposal of over 50m euros would enable them to enter the market to find a suitable replacement.
In London, meanwhile, the possibility of transfer being financed through delayed payments is under consideration so that the club will respect the financial regulations of the Premier League.
According to reports, Chelsea Scouts are expected to closely follow Barcelona’s presentations during October and November to assess whether Koundé will continue to have a secondary role on the team. /Telegraph/
