Hungary, Austria commemorate fallen soldiers

Hungary’s Ambassador to Kosovo László Dux, and Austria’s Embassy Mission deputy head Clarissa Castek, have attended the memorial ceremony organised on the Day of All Saints, at the Austro-Hungarian military cemetery in Pec.

At this ceremony, organised by Hungarian and Austrian KFOR contingents, 208 soldiers have been commemorated, mainly by the Austro-Hungarian Monarchia, who lost their lives during World War I.

Through an announcement, Hungary’s Embassy pointed out that soldiers buried in these cemeterys were unable to return to their parents, wives, and children, but their memory continues to be preserved.

Their fate reminds us of the importance of preserving peace, said the embassy’s announcement.
