Kosovo Police Inspectorate ( The IPK) announces public opinion that, under the mandate and legal competencies, has begun undertaking investigative and verifiating actions regarding the way Kosovo Police treated all cases reported by the late Arlinda Zekij.
These actions are being taken with the authorisation of the State Prosecutor and are aimed at full verification of the actions and procedures followed by police officials during handling its reporting.
Within this process, The IPK will consider the way each report is accepted, identified, assessed and treated, as well as actions undertaken or eventually not undertaken by responsible police officials.
The goal of these actions is to assess the legality and compliance of police actions with legal procedures and obligations, as well as to identify individual and institutional responsibilities if violations or concessions are found during handling reported cases, the IPK reports.
The IPK remains committed to co-ordinating with competent justice institutions, providing professional, impartial and comprehensive treatment of this issue, in line with the legal mandate, and respecting the integrity of the investigative process.
