Bomb threat on several flights to Europe alarm airports

TAt least seven flights and a tourist ship with a destination Israel have been threatened with bombs in several European countries, causing emergency checks and temporary disruptions of operations at airports.

Incidents included flights of Ryanair companies, Wizz Air, Scandinavian Airlines and LOT. In Poland an airport near Warsaw was provisionally closed, while in Italy fighter planes accompanied a Ryanair flight to Rome.

All the planes landed safely, and the controls did not reveal explosive devices. Even the tourist ship Crown Iris, evacuated near the Greek island of Syros after a threat, did not result in explosive equipment.

So far, no person or organisation has claimed responsibility for the threats. Authorities have not determined whether the incidents are co-ordinated as investigations continue.

aviation security experts estimate that the unusual number of threats within a day could be aimed at creating chaos and preventing air transport to Europe. /Klankosova. tv
