During the press conference where the EU Enlargement Strategy was introduced, Kos indicated that Albania, together with Moldova and Ukraine, is marking significant progress in the process of European integration.

She stressed that Albania must continue implementing reforms, especially in areas related to the rule of law, independence of the judiciary, media freedom and the protection of fundamental rights.

For Albania, Moldova and Ukraine, all progress in EU accession is important and of these four countries that are advancing very quickly. Next, we would like to have more dialogue with different countries and explore more possibilities in terms of integration. Albania opened all chapters, closed 4 of them, and this is a very important achievement. It has to close some reforms in terms of ongoing reforms. The rule of law, independence of the judiciary, media independence and protection of fundamental rights matter for Albania not only to join the EU, but to the daily lives of citizens, Kos said.
