Meta will inform parents if teenagers seek the content of suicide and self-insulting

Meta Company will start announcing to parents when their teenage children constantly seek content related to self – sacrifice or Facebook suicide, with the goal that possible risk situations be identified as early as possible.

The new system will function through parental supervision tools and include teen activity not only on Facebook but also in conversations with artificial intelligence Meta AI, as well as on Instagram and Messenger platforms.

According to the company, parents will be warned when adolescents conduct some suicide – related research or self – sacrifice within a short period of time. Reports will be sent via phone messages, email, Whatsap or live on app.

However, Meta has made it known that warnings will not contain the exact words that adolescents have sought, nor the contents of their conversations with artificial intelligence.

Instead, parents will be informed of potential concerns and will receive instructions on how to discuss these sensitive topics with their children.

In addition to reports, the company will also offer parents information materials and advice prepared by experts in order to help them better understand the situation and provide needed support for children.

This initiative comes after presenting a similar system in the Instagram at the beginning of this year. With the move expanded on Facebook and Meta AI, the company aims to strengthen security mechanisms for minor users on its platforms.
