According to the Special Prosecutor’s State statement, the indictment has been handed over to the Constitutional Court in Pristina for criminal acts the task of carrying out the terrorist work and heavy actions against the constitutional order and security of the Republic of Kosovo.
The report reportedly said that the S.R. — along with other defendants against whom the indictment was filed on September 11th 2024 — allegedly participated in the attack on Kosovo Police officials, as part of a heavily structured and heavily armed terrorist group.
As a result of the attack on Banjska, Kosovo Police Sergeant A.B. was killed, while a police official was injured and several others injured.
According to the Special Prosecutor, the group’s goal was to destabilise the fundamental constitutional structures of the Republic of Kosovo and to cut off the northern part of the country’s territory, with the aim of joining it in the Republic of Serbia.
The Act on S.R. comes as a continuation of the criminal procedure in the case of Banjska. On September 11th 2024, the Special Prosecutor had filed charges against 45 defendants for alleged involvement in the case.
