The United States has offered a reward of up to $20m, as well as the possibility of moving to another country, for anyone offering information on Iran’s nuclear program.
According to the U.S. Army Central Command, the American Guard Initiative for Justice requires information on Iran’s nuclear facilities, equipment, personnel involved, including scientists, and related movements.
This U.S. State Department initiative was established in 1984 and aims to provide information that can help protect national security.
In announcing the reward, the State Department stressed Iran’s failure to co-operate with the International Agency for Atomic Energy ( The IAEA has caused the latter to lose some of the opportunity to constantly monitor Iranian production and reserves of important equipment, such as centrifuges.
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly declared that American forces have destroyed Iran’s nuclear facilities.
We are also making sure Iran never has nuclear weapons, Trump said Friday during a speech at the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida.
He added that if the US had not undertaken attacks with B-2 bombers more than a year ago, Israel today would face a much greater threat.
Iran’s nuclear programme has been one of the main issues in negotiations on ending the war between Iran, the US and Israel, which began in late February following American and Israeli attacks on Iran.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Massoud Peschian has confirmed that his government is continuing efforts to resolve conflict through dialogue. /Telegraphy/
