Albania, Kosovo aim to strengthen co-operation in the field of archives

Albania’s Ambassador to Kosovo, Petrit Malaj, attended the meeting between Albania’s Director General of Archives, Auron Rrakaj, and the head of Pristina’s municipality, Progress Rama, with the focus of strengthening inter-institutional co-operation between Tirana and Pristina.

Through a Facebook report, the Albanian Embassy in Kosovo emphasises the importance of archives in preserving national memory, recording history and conveying common heritage over the generations.

The archives are far more than guardians of historical documents; they represent national memory, testify to our historical journey, and link generations to our common identity and heritage. The exchange of experiences, digitization, restoration and organisation of joint cultural activities creates new opportunities for the preservation and promotion of this precious wealth.

The accession of Albanian institutions is another step towards strengthening ties between Albania and Kosovo, in the service of historical memory, culture and our national identity. More co-operation, more common memory, more bridges between Tirana and Pristina!
