Kosovo Private Sector Technical Workers Union Federation ( FSPSPK has raised concerns about the dismissal of over 50 security workers at the Family Medicine Centres ( QMF) in Pristina.
In a report published Monday, the union has announced that workers were submitted to its offices, as they said they had left jobs without warning.
According to the union, workers have been told by the Pristina municipality that the reason for the departure is the lack of budget.
In the meantime, there has been no remarks to the security company, and the company has not been presented as the reason for the removal of these workers from their jobs, said the FSPSPK report.
Unionists have indicated that workers have been informed by persons responsible at the Safety and Emergency Directorate that their case will be handled with priority, with the aim of getting back to their jobs.
However, according to the union, a certain date for their return to work has not been given so far.
About 50 workers who have lost income and without a clear deadline in terms of their return to jobs, the report says.
FSPSPK has urged the Pristina municipality to deal with the issue urgently and to provide a concrete answer to the workers’ situation, as well as to the possible deadline for their return to jobs.
Chairman FSPSPK, Yusuf Azemi, has said the union will not remain indifferent to the situation.
We’re going to demand that these workers find a concrete solution and as soon as possible, Azemi said, according to the announcement.
Unionists have warned that, unless concrete steps are taken to resolve the issue, they will take union and institutional action to protect workers’ rights and interests, including protests and strikes before the Pristina municipality.
The workers cannot be kept in uncertainty and without income without a concrete response and solutions from responsible institutions, the FSPSPSK’s announcement is said to end. /Telegraph/
