New video games in Steam use artificial intelligence

The use of artificial intelligence in the video-game industry is growing rapidly.

Recent data shows that almost half of the games published on the Steam platform during October 2026 have used content with the help of this technology.

According to an analysis of some 63 thousand of the 600 games published since January 2024, the percentage of titles stating the use of artificial intelligence increased from 13.2 percent in 2024 to 24 percent during 2025 and to 40.1 percent in 2026. In October, that figure reached 49.9 percent.

It is primarily used in the creation of illustrations and visual materials, which make up 63 percent of the declared cases.

Other uses include texts and translations, marketing materials, music and programming.

Meanwhile, its use for creating voices and content during the game remains markedly more limited.

These data only include developers who have declared the use of artificial intelligence at Steam. /Telegraphy/
