  • Qrolli: Today is not the day to bring the country back, to vote on President and Special Bill.

Vetevendosje Movement MP Vogan Qrolli has called for the Kosovo Parliament to vote on the President of the Republic and the Bill for Change and Complete of the Law on Specialised Chambers.

Qroll has named these two issues part of the same institutional obligation, arguing that the country needs functional institutions and decision-making.

Today is not the day to bring the state back: we vote on the president and vote on the Special Bill because both are part of the same obligation to give the country functional institutions and decision making, Qorroll has declared.

He has also warned of the consequences that, according to him, would have gone to the polls at this stage of political developments.

Voting in the elections hurts The Hague and our Republic, LVV deputy has indicated.

The town has used harsh tones against those who, according to him, are acting motivated by political clashes, calling on MPs to avoid a new election scenario.

You’ll regret it if you act in this rage and insinuation by political sealers, he wrote. /Telegraphy/

  • Migration and citizenship: What Swiss MPs voted for this fall

During the autumn session of Parliament, which lasted from 14 September to 2 October, Swiss MPs adopted a series of key motions.

Here are some of the decisions they made:

    Imigration tax

Lawmakers approved the idea of setting up a 4,000 franc tax for EU citizens being placed in the country.

The idea behind this step is that new immigrants benefit from Switzerland’s infrastructure and public services without contributing to their financing, so they have to pay for their use, reports the report. TheLocal. ch.

The Federal Council also stated that it supports this tax, revenues from which people and the economy would be reunited.

    University tariffs for foreign citizens

During discussions on the new package of agreements between Switzerland and the European Union, MPs decided that EU students registered at the Federal Institutes of Technology in Zurich and Lozana should be treated the same as Swiss students in terms of schooling fees.

Under terms of the agreement with Brussels, Swiss students will benefit equal treatment when they study in an EU country.

Sanctions for companies employing foreigners instead of locals

In all, MPs stressed that domestic candidates must take priority over individuals from outside the EU/ EFTAs.

Under the plan, employers can face sanctions if they refuse to employ a person deemed suitable by the Regional Employment Centre ( ORP), offering the job instead to candidates who are not considered part of the Swiss labour market.

This category includes Swiss citizens, EU citizens/ EFTAs, as well as persons from third countries who are already integrated into Switzerland’s labour market with license from category B or C, broadcast Telegrafi.

MPs rejected a proposal for simplified naturalisation procedure

The initiative in question proposes that the right to Swiss citizenship be granted only five years of legal standing in Switzerland, lowering this deadline from the current ten-year border.

This decision implies that members of parliament will call on voters to reject this initiative when it is put to the polls on an yet indefinite date.

    EU Referendum

Since the new package of negotiated agreements between Bern and Brussels must be approved by Swiss voters before it comes into force, MPs had to decide whether this issue should be submitted to a backlash or mandatory referendum — that is, if only the majority of voters were required, or by the majority of voters and the cantons, writes the helocal, transmits albinfo.ch.

They chose the second option because the question in question is fundamental, that a simple popular majority would not suffice.

Also, a fascinating referendum would imply that canton participation rights would be restricted.

And as Petra Gössi stressed by the Liberal-Radical Party: The deal package directly touches cantons. Hence, they must have a word in decision – making. )

Moreover, a double surplus would bring greater legitimacy and stronger public confidence in the results, Göss added.

The recommendation to vote against a start to cut waiting time for Swiss citizenship.

What will happen next to these issues?

Those adopted by only one House of Parliament will have to be approved by another room during the upcoming parliamentary session of November 30th to December 18th before the proposed legislation can be drafted.

Later, they will submit to a referendum. /Telegraphy/

  • Yemen’s army says it has RSecurity𔄭 Red Sea naval corridor

Yemen’s government forces, backed by Saudi Arabia, have claimed to have put the strategic area of the Bab al-Mandab Strait under Iran-backed offensive against rebels.

The operation, baptized Yemeni’s Agim, aims to regain the territories and state institutions controlled by Houth, including the capital Sana, broadcast Telegraphy.

The World Army said the powers of the Giants and Nation’s Scheild Brigades took over the area of Bab al-Mandabi and Dhubab military airport, while cutting off the road linking Dhubiba and the town of Mokhara. According to the army, hundreds of Houth fighters are surrounded in the area.

Government forces have also claimed to have recovered Mokhan, a strategic portual city at the Red Sea. However, government and military sources quoted by international agencies have produced various versions, saying forces may have reached only the outskirts of the city.

Land offensive is being supported by an intensive Saudi air campaign. The Riyadh-led coalition said around 100 fighter planes are offering air support and that 324 targets named high-value have been hit.

On the other hand, Houth have claimed to have attacked targets in Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh International Airport and oil company objects Saudi Aramco. The damages claims have not been independently verified.

The escalation has also caused concern for air and sea security in the region. Houth has warned that Saudi airspace, with the exception of areas over the sacred cities of Mecca and Medina, is no longer safe for civilian aviation.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan held an emergency meeting in Riyadh, where the activisation of joint defence mechanisms and the sending of military forces to Saudi Arabia was discussed.

UN Secretary General Antónnio Guterres has condemned Houthi’s cross-border attacks on Saudi Arabia and has expressed deep concern about the escalation of fighting.

Bab al-Mandab is one of the world’s most important maritime corridors, as it connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Adden and the Arabian Sea and is a key route to international transport and energy.

The conflict in Yemen began in 2014 when Houth took control of Sana. Saudi Arabia intervened militarily in 2015 to support the internationally recognised government.

After a relatively long period of calm, fighting has escalated again. In September, Houth took a quick offensive on the southwest coast of Yemen and took control of areas near Bab al-Mandabi, including Mokhan and Perim Island.

Currently, government forces, with the support of Saudi Arabia, aim to restore control over this strategic corridor and advance towards Sana. Meanwhile, the parties’ claims of progress on the ground continue to be contradictory. /Telegraphy/

  • Separatists win elections in Quebec, return to the agenda of independence referendum

Separatists Party Québécois ( The PQ has won the provincial elections in Quebec, returning to power after more than a decade and promising a new referendum on independence from Canada.

However, The PQ has not achieved most at the Quebec National Assembly. According to results reported after the count, the party led by Paul St-Pierre Plamondon secured 59 out of 127 seats, while the majority needed 64.

This means that the new government will be in the minority and will have to seek opposition parties’ support for adopting laws and votes of confidence.

St-Pierre Plamondon acknowledged that voters did not give the party the majority they asked for, saying their message was clear: The PQ must co-operate with other parties.

However, he has reiterated the pledge to hold a referendum on Quebecu’s sovereignty. The separatist leader has declared that such a referendum will not be held as long as Donald Trump is president of the US.

In his victory speech, St-Pierre Plamondon presented independence as a matter of preserving the province’s Frankofon identity, Television broadcast.

Quabec simply wants to be on his own, like other countries in the world, he said, adding that citizens should have the opportunity to decide for themselves about their future.

He also tried to calm Canadians outside Quebec, stressing that the independence project does not target their exclusion and that the province will remain geographically where it is, creating common interests for co-operation.

The PQ’s victory, however, does not imply that the majority of Quebec residents support the secession from Canada. According to politicalologist Daniel Béland of McGill University, the elections were more determined by dissatisfaction with Coalition Avenir Queebec ( CAQ, which was in power since 2018, rather than support for independence.

Support for independence is currently estimated at about 30 percent, a relatively low level compared to previous periods. Quebecu has held two referendums on sovereignty, in the 1980s and 1995, and in both cases voters chose to remain part of Canada. The 1995 referendum was lost by separatists by a very narrow margin.

The result is a severe blow to CAQ. The party that before the elections controlled 79 seats lost power, while its leader, Christine Fréchette, admitted defeat and said she claimed responsibility for the outcome.

At the federal level, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney congratulated St-Pierre Plamondon and signalled Ottawa’s readiness to co-operate with the new provincial government.

Carney said strengthening Quebecut is part of the effort to build a stronger Canada. He promised co-operation for support of businesses and workers affected by US tariffs, job creation and housing construction.

The separatists’ victory comes at a significant moment for Canada’s unity. On October 19th, residents of Alberta are expected to vote in a non-binding referendum on whether the province should move forward with a process of secession from Canada.

Quebecu, where about 80 percent of the population is Frankophone, already enjoys broad autonomous powers. The province collects its income taxes, has special policies for immigration, and laws that give priority to French language towards English.

Currently, the PEC minority government faces the challenge of securing the support of other parties, while in parallel trying to bring the issue of independence back to the centre of political debate in Quebec. /Telegraphy/

  • Switzerland: Debat for framing injections. Who should cover costs?

The use of Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro is growing in Switzerland, while the debate over their costs has also gone to politics.

Weight – loss injections are increasingly being sought in Switzerland, not only by obesity patients but also by those who use them for lifestyle reasons.

Health insurance covers these treatments for patients with body mass index ( BMI) 35 or more, while in cases of BMI 28 or more coverage, there are other health problems, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, reports SRF.

Swiss People’s Party ( SVP) requires stricter criteria for repaying these drugs. National adviser Mike Egger argues they are being described very easily and that other measures must be proven before costs are covered by health insurance.

And the health care organization, Prio. Swiss, requires that drugs be used carefully, but supports their coverage from basic security when conditions for efficiency, adaptation and cost-effectiveness are met, transmiting Telegrafi.

According to health economist Simon Wieser, however, the cost of injections should not be seen cut off from the economic burden of obesity. In 2022, obesity – related diseases cost the Swiss health system about 3.7 billion francs, while productivity – related losses reached about 2.9 billion francs.

Wiezer argues that treatment can bring long-term benefits if it prevents other diseases and improves the quality of life.

Meanwhile, family doctor Jawad Jalal objects to the claim that these drugs are being described inexorably. According to him, there are clear rules to determine patients who have the right to benefit from the repayment.

The debate in Switzerland remains focused on a key question: Should health insurance pay for the injections for weakening and the criteria for covering them?/Telegraphy/

  • Special, president clash parties, few hours remain until the constitutional deadline is complete

The Kosovo Assembly has approved on Monday 91 votes, none against and no abstentions, in the first read, the Bill on Changing Law on Specialised Chambers and the Specialised Prosecutor’s Office.

The changes, however, do not foresee the break-up of the Special Court and do not halt appeals procedures for former KLA leaders sentenced to the first degree.

After the vote, The PDK requested that the second reading be held on Monday at 5:30.

This was rejected by Parliament Speaker Albulen Haxhiu, who initially called for compliance with the president’s election, stressing that the election of the head of state is an urgent matter. The session ended without the second vote being held.

PDK MP Vlora Citaku said her party did not negotiate the law and demanded that MPs return to the Assembly to approve it in second reading.

Meanwhile, protests before the Parliament, which has been held for days in support of legal changes, tensed over the evening.

Protesters threw pyrotechnic tools toward the Parliament and Police, while police used tear gas to disperse the crowds. In some areas of Pristina, there were clashes and roadblocks around the Assembly.

Police have announced that three people have been escorted to the police station, due to disrespecting calls for calm and suspicions of actions contrary to the law.

    Failed meeting Kurti-Hamza

The parties have not reached agreement on the issue of amendments to the Special Law and the election of the new Kosovo president.

The LVV requires that before reading second, the Parliament will elect the country’s new president, given that the constitutional deadline for this expires on October 6th tomorrow.

The PDK insists that, initially, changes to this law and then be resolved on the other side, the president’s issue remains related to the October 6th constitutional deadline. If the Assembly fails to elect the president by then, the distribution of the Assembly and holding new elections are expected.
