Albania’s prime minister, Edi Rama, has reiterated Friday the invitation for dialogue, again putting invitations to concrete seats before the prime minister and calling on the parties to sit at the negotiating table.
Through a statement, Rama said he is willing to dialogue with anyone who believes Albania can become better through exchange of views, regardless of differences.
Again and again, invitations to dialogue and willingness to be with anyone you seek and believe in dialogue are here, Rama said.
He stressed that he is willing to hold talks in any country and at any time with those who believe in dialogue and democratic co-existence.
However, the head of the Albanian government criticised the opposition that, according to him, is accompanied by violence and force, saying these forms cannot replace dialogue.
Rama also spoke of protests in the capital, accusing organisers of taking the city hostage and acting on behalf of the students, while warning that those responsible will face legal consequences.
Who took the capital hostage […] must know that it will answer. He will be legally answered, prosecuted, on the scale of wrongdoing committed, Rama said.
The prime minister gave no further details concerning concrete steps that could be taken, while in his statement he reiterated that dialogue remains, according to him, the way to confront political differences.
