The mountainous residence of Adolf Hitler, known as Eagle’s nest (Eagleés Nest), is involved in the flames Friday evening, while police have arrested a 33-year-old suspect.
The building, known as Kehlsteinhouse, is located over the town of Berchtesgaden, in the bavarese Alps of Germany, broadcast Telegragraphy.
During World War II, it was one of several buildings in the area used by the Nazi dictator and his immediate circle.
Hitler also used this area as a backdrop for propagandistic footage, with its aim of appearing to be a man associated with animals and nature.
Local media reported that the object was largely destroyed, while the public urged them to avoid the area.
More details have yet to be revealed about the causes of fire or the identity of the suspect. /Telegraphy/
