Serbian lawyer urges Kosovo, Montenegro, Bosnia probes over voter purchase allegations by Vuciqi party

Serbian lawyer Cedomir Stojkovic has called on Kosovo authorities, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina to launch investigation into allegations of vote buying by the Serbian Progressive Party ( SNS, led by President Aleksandar Vuciq.

His call comes after reports of Serbian voters allegedly being offered 100 euros to participate in the election and vote in favour of the SNS.

Stojkovic has demanded that the institutions of the three countries investigate whether Serb citizens living in their territories are involved in possible schemes organised for vote purchase and transfer of voters to Serbia.

It has also raised questions about the source of money allegedly used for these activities, seeking to clarify whether they come from public funds or other illegal sources.

The lawyer has also called for identification of persons who may have organised the transportation of voters, the distribution of money, and the exercise of pressure on citizens to vote for Vuciqi’s party.

According to Stojkovqi, investigations by Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina would help clear allegations of electoral manipulations and identify potential persons involved.

He has claimed such investigations are hampered within Serbia and has therefore called for the commitment of institutions of neighbouring countries.

Stojkovic has stressed that the alleged acts could constitute criminal acts even in countries where they allegedly were organised.

However, claims of paying to voters and possible involvement of criminal networks remain unverified and require investigation by competent institutions.
