KLDK captain Lumir Abdixhiku has reacted following the murder of Arlinda Zekaj, who was allegedly killed by her brother-in-law.
Through a Facebook post, Obadiah described the occasion as grave and painful, stressing that it is unacceptable for a woman who feared for her life and had sought help to remain without protection.
Arlinda asked to live. He asked for state protection. Three days before she was killed, she warned the prosecutor of the danger to her life. Today, her letter is here. Arlinda is gone. She was killed last night. It is unbearable to read the words of a woman who seeks help as she feels powerless to hear her fairy. Those words strike each of us as a parent, as a brother, as a child, as a fellow citizen. A woman feared for life and left herself!
Abdixhiku has indicated that the LDK requires full and independent investigation into any action and inaction of institutions responsible for protecting Arlinda.
In this case, the LDK requires full and independent investigation into any action and inaction in its defence. Each official and institution that has addressed the Arlinda request must account for the actions it has taken and the obligations it has left unfulfilled. The responsibility must have a surname. The most sincere condolences to Arlinda’s family. We owed her protection while she was alive. To live, there was no protection! Now we owe him justice; despite the warning devaluation he gave us on the letter. And to any woman who lives in fear today, we owe action. Today, before another request for help lies in our hands as evidence of a life we did not protect, Obadiah wrote. /I did. tv
