VArlinda Zekiaj’s report to Vitomirica in Peja has prompted numerous reactions and has brought the issue of women’s protection from domestic violence and the responsibility of institutions to the attention.
Arlinda was killed on the night of October 25th, while the suspect in the murder, her brother-in-law, according to police, is still on the run. According to first information, she was allegedly killed with axes inside the house, reports I did. tv.
The case is even more disturbing for the fact that just three days before the assassination, on October 22nd, Arlinda was addressed with an urgent pretentine to the chief prosecutor of the Constitutional Prosecutorship in Pec, demanding intervention and responsibility for what she considered institutional failures.
In her letter, she had warned of the danger she faced, writing wish that you would not be held accountable only after my life has been taken.

The prosecution has confirmed that the parliament has been accepted and that its treatment by the competent prosecutor has been ordered. Meanwhile, the victim’s lawyer, Adelina Hoxha, has demanded that all circumstances be investigated and that institutions not rush into the reasoning of their officials.
President Justina Shiroka-Pula has been deeply shocked by the macabre case of the Arlinda assassination.
It has asked competent bodies to investigate with priority not only the circumstances of the murder and criminal responsibility of the suspected persons but also the treatment of the victim’s demands and the actions of any institution that was legally obliged to protect him.
It should be explained whether all necessary measures for risk assessment and protection have been taken. Any signal for danger, any request for assistance, and any complaint against institutional inaction must be addressed with the utmost seriousness. Protecting the lives and security of citizens is the non-negotiable obligation of institutions. I call on the institutions of justice to act with urgency, professionalism and impartiality so that every circumstance of this case can be investigated and justice established.
Regarding Arlinda’s macabre murder, it has reacted to the Parliament’s first reaction, Albulen Hadziu.
Within the framework of the country’s supervisory responsibilities, Haxhiu has warned that he will seek from relevant parliamentary commissions to review the functioning of mechanisms for protection from domestic violence and childicide prevention, with particular focus on risk assessment and inter-institution co-operation.
So far, however, it has not reacted to Justice Minister Donika Gervala.
Meanwhile, political and institutional representatives, including Lumir Abdixhik, Vlora Citak, Vjosa Osmani, Vogan Qorrollin and Progress Rama, have reacted to justice, full investigation and institutional responsibility.
The first of the LDK has called for full and independent investigation into any institutional action or inaction regarding the protection of Arlinda. He has stressed that the victim should have secured the protection while he was alive and sought accountability from responsible officials.
Arlinda asked to live. He asked for state protection. Three days before she was killed, she warned the prosecutor of the danger to her life. Today, her letter is here. Arlinda is gone. She was killed last night. It is unbearable to read the words of a woman who seeks help as she feels powerless to hear her fairy. Those words strike each of us as a parent, as a brother, as a child, as a fellow citizen. A woman feared for life and left herself!
Even former Alliance leader Ramush Haradinaj has reacted after the tragic case in Vitomirica, Peja, where Arlinda Zekaj was killed.
It’s urgent that things get different. The murders have to be stopped, society needs to reflect, while justice does its job and is tough in this regard. Above all, it is vital that competent bodies give full responsibility for any neglect or failure to protect the lives of citizens. Comfort the family who lost their best girlfriend, Haradinaj wrote.
The deputy speaker of the Parliament, on the other hand, has sought accountability and resignations from persons responsible for the victim’s defense. Citaku has stressed that laws and strategies are not enough without concrete measures and consequences for officials who may have failed in their duties.
A woman’s life cannot be the price of indifference, negligence or institutional failure.
Meanwhile, former President Osmani has criticised the justice system, stressing that Arlinda had sought protection, but ended up dead.
The responsibility cannot be buried with Arlinda. She asked for protection. Justice left it in the hands of the killer, Osman wrote.
And the first of Pristina has described the case as severe tragedy and alarm for the way women’s security is handled. He has called for full investigation into crime and consideration of any institutional action or inaction, stressing that women’s security should be the guarantee of the state.
We cannot pretend to be building a fair society, as women continue to seek protection and we continue to count victims, Rama wrote.
Likewise, Vetevendosje Movement MP and simultaneously Parliamentary Commission for Legislation Chairman Vigan Qrolli has reacted following the assassination of Arlinda Zekaj.
In a Facebook post, Qroll has criticised Peja prosecutor Suada Hamza, charging that she did not intervene to protect Arlinda, despite her request for help.
