The Constitutional Court in Pristina has scheduled the initial review hearing on 20 people charged with war crimes against the civilian population. Under the Special Prosecutor’s Proposal, the court process is expected to take place in the absence of indictees, as they have been unable until the moment the indictment was established.
The Special Department of Foundation Court in Pristina, through an announcement published on October 28, 2026, has announced that the initial review hearing is scheduled for December 21, 2026, 09:30.
The indictment was established by the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo on 6 August 2026, while the defendants are charged with criminal acts of war against the civilian population, according to Article 142 concerning Article 22 of the Criminal Law of the former Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia.

The Special Prosecutor has proposed that the trial be carried out in absence of indicteesBecause the same ones have not been accessible until the moment the indictment was established.
Through the public communiqué, the Court has called on all indictees to appear and surrender to the bodies of the Kosovo Republic’s prosecution.
At the same time, the institution has asked citizens who possess information about the whereabouts of the accused, to forward them to the Kosovo Police or other competent organs.
The hearing will be held at the Palace of Justice in Hyvali, D, first floor, Court number 27, and Judge Leon Perlasca will head the court.
The court has warned that it will continue to inform the public opinion of further developments regarding this criminal case.
