According to the Kosovo Police’s announcement, suspensions are based on the Police Law, administrative guidelines for violations and disciplinary procedures, as well as the recommendation of the Kosovo Police Inspectorate ( IPK).
A preliminary investigation by the IPK, which relates to their actions or inactions during handling of the case, is under way.
Based on IPK recommendation, the Kosovo Police Management has ruled: W. D/Director Regional at DPD-Pej, Chief of Regional Investigation DDRP-Peja, Commander of Peje Police Station, Mr. V’s Commander Pay State Police Station, Chief of Investigation at PEI, W. D/Fif of the Operational Sector at Pay Station, Substation Commander Vitomirica and 4 (four) police investigators at the Pajje Police Station, said the report.
Kosovo police have indicated that suspensions have been undertaken in the interest of developing independent investigations, institutional accountability and determining individual responsibilities.
In the end, Kosovo police have reaffirmed the commitment to maintaining institutional integrity and providing services fairly and impartially, stressing that they will co-operate closely with all relevant institutions.
