Electric network operators in Kosovo have participated in a three-day training to analyse network capacities and identify restrictions that could affect the integration of renewable energy.
Enhancing renewable energy in Kosovo requires not only investments in electricity production but also preparing the network to cope with new capacities. In this direction, power grid operators in the country have participated in a three-day seminar dedicated to analysis of the host capacity for the integration of renewable energy.
The seminar is organised in co-operation with GET.transform and is focused on assessing the capabilities of distribution networks to determine which parts of the electrical system can be connected to new production capacities, especially solar energy.
During training, participants have engaged in practical exercise and exchange of experiences, shaping electrical networks, analyzing energy flows, and identifying restrictions that can be presented during the integration of new sources of production, transmits Telegrafi.
These knowledge and skills are intended to help operators make more informed decisions on connecting new networks, as well as on the long-term planning of Kosovo’s electricity system.
The event is part of the project implemented by the GIZ, which supports the Partnership for Climate and Kosovo-German Energy Transition.
The project is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Environment, Climate Action, Nature Preservation and Nuclear Security, through the International Climate Initiative.
These activities target creating better conditions for the integration of solar energy and other renewable resources, contributing to the development of a more stable and prepared electrical system for energy transition. /Telegraphy/
