Israeli opposition leader: Netanyah has tired people with lies, divisions, and the instigation of hatred

The party’s leader, Yashar, Gadi Eisencot, has declared he will do everything to form Israel’s next government, demanding a new leadership and calling on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyyahu to leave political life.

In his speech after publishing the results of the 27 October parliamentary elections, Eisenkot said Israeli citizens have voted for change and against continuing Netanyah’s mandate.

He estimated that the current government has lost public confidence, while stressing that election results show the demand for a new political course, reports misofirael.

A leader deserving of that name would accept the people’s decision and announce today the flight from political life, Eisencott declared, referring to Netanyah.

He added that holding other elections, following high citizens’ participation in the process, would be wrong. According to him, his responsibility is to make every effort to respect the will of voters and form a new government.

The Israelites have grown weary of the culture of lies, failures, divisions, and the instigation of hatred, he said.

Eisenkot pledged that he will work on creating a government that will represent all citizens, regardless of political, religious or ideological beliefs. He stressed that he aims at forming a Zionist government that will guarantee military or national service for all.

One of the new government’s top priorities, according to him, will be the adoption of a law envisioning service for all citizens. This issue is especially related to Israel’s long debate on exemption from the military service of ultraorthodox Jews.

He also stressed that the future government should rely on Israel’s principles as a Jewish and democratic state, respect the values of the Declaration of Independence and commit to the dismantling of Hamas.

According to the election results, Netanyah’s bloc has secured 53 seats in Knesset, while the parties led by Eisencott have 48. Arab parties have won a total of 19 seats. /Telegraphy/
