Tahiri: With this government, Kosovo forget EU integration and membership

SThe Alliance’s Parliamentary Group, Besnik Tahiri, has criticised the government for blocking the European integration process, saying statements for membership in the European Union do not match the reality of European Commission assessments for Kosovo.

Tahiri, through a reaction, has said that Kosovo’s application for candidate country status, submitted by this government, has received no course and is not expected to develop.

He has stressed that the European Commission’s annual negative assessments indicate lack of progress in meeting the criteria for European integration.

Tahiri has also used a comparison to illustrate, according to him, the lack of meeting European criteria, saying Kosovo cannot seek membership in a club, while each year fails to meet its criteria.

He has named this situation a failure of state integration policy, warning that European integration risks remaining only political slogan.

At the end of the response, Tahiri has given a severe assessment to the government, saying that with this government, Kosovo should wipe out integration and membership in the European Union as a goal.
