Kosovo ranks 82nd worldwide in results of international testing PISA 2025, remaining among the countries with the lowest performance in assessing the knowledge of 15-year-old students.
According to the ranking published by Visual Capitalist, based on OECD data, Kosovo has collected an average of 349 points in mathematics, reading and science.
Compared to the countries of the region, Kosovo ranks behind Albania, Montenegro, Serbia and Northern Macedonia. The difference with Albania is 76.3 points, while with northern Macedonia 22.7 points.
OECD data shows that students in Kosovo have received 350 points in mathematics, 340 reading and 357 in science. All three results are noticeably below the OECD average countries. OECD+1
Also disturbing is the fact that only 15 percent of students in Kosovo have reached minimum math skills, 16 percent reading, and 21 percent in science. These figures show the big challenges of a considerable portion of students applying knowledge to practical situations. O ECD
Compared to 2022 testing, Kosovo’s results have fallen into mathematics, while reading and science have remained almost unchanged. According to 2018, performance has marked a decline in all three fields. O ECD+1
In testing 2025, 6 thousand and 632 students from 213 schools participated in Kosovo, representing about 19 thousand and 900 15-year-olds. O ECD
