Speaking on The Overlap Daily’s show, Liverpool’s former captain has sharply criticised the recent conduct and performance of the Argentinian defenders, whom he has described as disappointing.
I think he’s thinking: I want to get out of here as soon as I can.
Martinez has been placed at the centre of the post-red card criticism taken at Manchester United’s 2.0 defeat of Chelsea.
The controversy around him has increased even after the criticism he had addressed earlier to club football director Jason Wilcox.
Gerrird has estimated that the defender has disappointed his fellow players, club and fans, naming his expulsion as a selfish act.
He cost them points, but that’s what he did to a support trainer who did a lot for him, the former English football player said.
According to Gerrard, the individual behavior of football players can prevent Manchester United to return to positive results.
However, the heads of the English club have publicly expressed confidence in Martinez’s dedication despite growing criticism and questions about his future at Old Tuffford.
