Republicans blame Trump for losing the Senate, president places responsibility on candidates

The American Senate’s loss of control has sparked clashes within the republics, with campaign officials blaming President Donald Trump for the election outcome.

According to the Associated Press, 2 republican officials involved in Senate campaigns have stated, under anonymity, that losses in South Carolina, Ohio and Texas constitute a rejection of the president’s policies by voters.

They have estimated that discontent with Trump’s policies, especially with regard to the cost of living, has directly affected the outcome of the mid-election.

According to them, the president had asked Americans to vote as if he himself were on the ballot, but the result was not what he had expected.

Trump, meanwhile, has refused to consider the outcome a personal loss.

In a telephone interview for Fox News, he has praised the Democrats for the campaign, while responsibility for the losses has attributed it to the republican candidates.

I don’t see it as a blow to me.

The American president has also criticised Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott after his defeat in the face of Democrat Gina Hinojosa.

The results of the November 3rd elections have assured the Democrats of control of the Senate, while the party is also targeting the majority in the House of Representatives.

According to the AP, the Democrats have warned that they will use Congress’s competencies to increase oversight of the Trump administration, including investigations into the activities of senior officials.

These developments are expected to influence reports between the White House and Congress during the remaining 2 years of presidential mandate.
