AUV bans activity of 11 factories, identifies 56 products containing palm oil

In response to RTK, AUV has indicated that 30 subjects were inspected during this period and that a total of 56 products containing palm oil have been identified. Also, 16 thousand and 457,81 kg of products have been attracted to the market.

The undertaken measures have included halting unauthorised activities, attracting unconform products from the market, cutting off export certificates, and initiating legal procedures on operators that have violated demands in force.

Meanwhile, The AUV has started implementing a permanent program of surveillance and monitoring of the milk sector, which envisions regular checks and monthly laboratory tests for local and imported products.

Tests will include verifying the contents of palm oil and other plant fats, powder milk, afloxins, antibiotics waste and microbiological security.

The samples will be taken to processing factories, milk collection points, warehouses, import points and retail chain.

According to the AUV, the programme aims at early identification of irregularities, consumer protection and ensuring that milk products meet legal requirements for composition, labeling, quality and food safety.
