19 people end up in detention for 48 hours, another three are released. This is the result of police megaction against illegal gambling in Prizren, Suhareka and Dragas. The signal newspaper, which reported exclusively on the operation since its launch, had also revealed the names of 22 persons involved in this case, while now the Prosecutor and Police have whitened the size of the action: 20 registered locations, about 10,000 euros seized, four firearms and ammunition.
The Constitutional Prosecutor in Prizren and Kosovo Police have published details of the operation, held on the evening of November 4th, following a lengthy investigation involving separate investigative measures and actions.
Under the operational plan, the investigators have searched 20 locations, including local business and residential homes in Prizren, Suhareka and Dragash.
During the raids, about 10,000 euros have been seized in cash, electronic equipment, four firearms and ammunition, which can serve as evidence in criminal procedure.
19 Suspects Banned, Three Free
Following the arrest of 22 people and their interview in the presence of defence attorneys, the Prosecution has decided that 19 of them will be detained for 48 hours, while the other three will be released in regular procedure.
The suspects are being investigated for criminal work organising pyramid schemes and illegal gambling, according to Article 294, paragraph 2 of the Kosovo Criminal Code.
The signal newspaper had reported exclusively on the megaaction since its first development, providing and publishing the identities of all 22 people involved in the operation: Kreshnik Bylyqbashi, Engjel Bytyqi, Nolian Dancreli, Sadri Shala, Valmir Gashi, Mefail Redi, Albion Jupaj, Muharrem Krasniqi, Ruzhdi Jasharaj, Dior Shala, Avdy Bayselman, Agim Bytyqi, Besmir Krasniqi, Salim Gashi, Misret Shala, Jetsel Bajselman, Sami Krasni, Bali, Bali, Sabri Shal, Kadri Kadri Kyqi, Blysharbashi and Krasniqi.
