President UFC’s and the head of Zuffa Boxing, Dana White, has reacted to speculation that Tyson Fury can withdraw from the long-awaited confrontation with Anthony Joshua because of an injury.
Duel among the two British boxers, scheduled to take place on December 11th in Cardiff, is considered one of the biggest confrontations in the history of British boxing.
Concerns about Fury’s physical condition arose after former world champion Frank Bruno said he had heard of a physical problem that could prevent the boxer from climbing into the ring.
However, White said he had never heard of any possible Fury injuries before, adding that he should be aware if the reports were true.
It’s the first time I’ve heard that. I’d like to believe I’d know if that was true. I haven’t even heard the rumor, let me know if it’s true, White said about it. Sky Sports.
He expressed hope that the news would not be true, adding that he has not received any information about such a problem so far.
Meanwhile, later reports have suggested Fury may have a bruise on the left side of the face, but this problem is not expected to be an obstacle to the development of the duel.
At the moment, the confrontation between Fury and Joshua remains in place, while White’s statements have not confirmed the existence of any injuries that would endanger him.
