Bajrami seeks investigation of single-source contracts, says value amounts to 319m euros

Democratic League of Kosovo MP Hykmete Bajrami has raised concerns about the number and value of single-source contracts in Kosovo, demanding their investigation.

In a Facebook post, Bajrami has indicated that, according to official data she has cited, from March 2021 to mid-October 2026, budgetary organisations have linked a total of 2,913 single-source contracts worth 359m euros.

According to her, of this number, 1,706 are new contracts, worth 304m euros, while 1,207 are annexes-contrast, worth 55m euros.

Bajrami has compared the purchase prices of diapers from municipalities in Podujevo and Gracanica, saying Podujevo has bought the diaper through a negotiated contract price of 520 euros per tonne, while Gracanica has bought it from the same company, through an open tender, at the price of 380 euros per tonne.

According to her, the difference between the two prices is 140 euros per tonne.

She has demanded that these contracts be investigated, claiming contracts linked without prior approval of the Public Procureing Commission constitute misuse of public money.

Bajrami has also criticised the situation with the drug supply, linking the use of single-source contracts to concerns about the lack of medicines for patients, including those treated by cancer.

At the end of her response, she has sought responsibility for the way public money is spent. /Telegraphy/
