Kosovo Customs, through Anti-Anthraby Sector units, has implemented a control operation in Gjakova today, during which 121 iPhone and Samsung brand phones have been confiscated, for which no documentation has been presented that testifies to their background and the fulfillment of customs duties.
During the operation, customs officials have exercised control over a business subject dealing with mobile phones and electronic devices, where a significant amount of mobile phones of various models have been identified.
In addition to controlling the business club, controls have been extended to a residence that the owner used as a store for goods conservation. Even in this location, a considerable quantity of mobile phones has been discovered.
During the initial search and verification, it has been found that the business owner did not possess documentation that witnessed the origin and legal origin of these equipment, and that there was no evidence of carrying out the follow-up procedures and paying dues.
The phones, which are individually counted through IMEI identification numbers, are placed under customs supervision for further treatment in line with legislation in force, Kosovas reports.
Kosovo customs has initiated relevant procedures for verifying the origin of goods, determining eventual customs duties and dealing with alleged violations of customs legislation.
