Two weeks from the return of Special Law, Gucati criticises delays: We don’t know if he’ll be voted.

KLA War Veterans Organisation ( OVL- KLA), Hysni Gucati, has expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of working to review changes in the Law for Specialised Chambers, saying the process is moving very slowly.

On TV show Dukajini, Gucati has said that although the task force has been formed in the Parliament, so far he does not see enough commitment to complete this process.

He has stressed that it is not yet known whether changes in the law will be voted again in the Assembly.

Even in this country this group has been made. My wish is to work hard, but I see that very slowly they’re working. The law has not yet been passed to Parliament, has not yet been reviewed. We don’t know if he’ll be voted or not. We’re hoping and believing, Gucati has declared it.

He has announced that he has visited some of the former heads of the Kosovo Liberation Army being held in The Hague to inform and discuss with them the developments in the process as well.

to visit Baaci Jakup and Peter Shala yesterday on Tuesday, Kadri Wessel and Wednesday to President Thaci and Salih Mustafa, while later I will be at General Rexhep Selimi. I’ve also regretted those I’ve discussed that the law has returned to Parliament.

The head of the OVL-KLA has also expressed regret over the way the law has been returned to the Assembly for review, saying it does not know who has made the decision and what reasons.

I don’t know who sent it back. That question is good to address the PDK office, with what motive it was sent back to Parliament, Gucati said.

Otherwise, on 6 October, Kosovo’s Assembly adopted amendments to the Law for Specialised Chambers, at the initiative of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, aimed at limiting the mandate of the Special Court in terms of time, territorial and hurt.

On October 22nd, President Justina Shiroka-Pula returned the law to the Parliament for Reexamination, following the PDK’s request, which had asked for a revision of provisions that concern the jurisdiction and mandate of the Specialised Chambers.

The PDK had declared that returning to the Assembly aimed at improving provisions and avoiding elements that could prevent law enforcement.

However, two weeks after his return, the process has not yet ended, and it remains unclear when it will be reviewed and whether it will receive the support of MPs again.
