Gresa Krasniqi, daughter of former Kosovo Parliament Speaker Jakup Krasniqi, has reacted publicly a month after her father’s sentence to 25 years in prison by the Specialised Chambers in The Hague.
Through a post, she has announced that during a telephone conversation, her father has told her that she has refused medical control and will no longer accept medical care from the institutions she is being held.
Some doctors came to check on me, of course I refused. I’m here unjustly, I’ve been denied every human right now and six years, so I don’t even need their attention. You are informed that I will no longer accept any care from them, she quoted her father’s words.
Gresa has expressed concern about Krasniqi’s condition and health, stressing that he is at an age when he needs special care.
As a daughter, of course I was worried. Dad’s at an age when she needs special care, she wrote.
It has also expressed a sense of inadequacy in the face of the situation in which her father is in, criticising the way he is treated by international justice.
How can I ask him to accept the care of those institutions when he feels betrayed by the very justice he should defend? Krasniqi wrote.
According to her, during the telephone conversation, she has managed to say only a few supportive words.
We’re here, Dad. We want to be strong, to want healthy, she has quoted the words she had addressed to Dad.
At the end of the response, Gresa Krasniqi has described her father’s sentence as injustice.
Dad’s conviction is not an error waiting to be corrected. It’s an injustice! /Telegraphy/
