European Union Mission to Rule Law in Kosovo ( EU RLEX has increased the presence of police patrols near the main crossing points between Kosovo and Serbia on the day elections are being held in Serbia.
According to EULEX’s announcement, specialised Police Unit patrols have been added since early Sunday hours, with the aim of monitoring the security situation on the ground.
This activity is taking place in co-ordination with the Kosovo Police and the NATO-led KFOR mission under the three-level security response mechanism.
Through this added presence, continued conveyance of the situation and co-ordination among relevant security mechanisms during the election process in Serbia is aimed.
