Six dead of a helicopter crash in India, between victims and a pilot

Six people lost their lives after a helicopter crashed in a Valley of Himalayas, India. Among the victims are five passengers and helicopter pilots.

The helicopter was launched by Badrinth, in the northern state of Uttarakhand, as it collapsed in the valley of Hohimath. Authorities have confirmed that all six on board have lost their lives as a result of the crash.

Efforts are being made to shift troops from the unattainable crash site to the nearest road, the state police statement said.

So far, authorities have not revealed the causes leading up to the helicopter crash.

Meanwhile, India’s Meteorological Department had predicted rainfall throughout the country two days after the Arnab Cyclone hit the southeastern coast of the country.

The state of Uttarakhand is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus. There is also Badrinth, where the holy temple dedicated to the god Vishnu attracts millions of pilgrims each year.

To facilitate travel to mountain shrines, various companies offer transportation services by helicopter rent. These services are used mainly by pilgrims who want to avoid difficult mountain journeys.
